Stonham is the care and support division of Home Group and is England’s largest provider of housing, care and support for people in need.  We run over 545 services, working in partnership with local authorities, health care providers, probation services and others delivering services to over 15,000 people each year.

As well as providing housing and support, much of Stonham’s work is about ensuring that people can live securely and independently, whoever is providing the roof over their heads. That requires flexibility, imagination, and partnership with a range of organisations.

Stonham specialises in providing housing with support to:

·         single homeless people

·        people with mental health problems

·        people with learning or physical disabilities

·         young people leaving care

·         people who have been in prison or through the courts

·        women and their children who are escaping domestic violence

·        people with drug and/or alcohol dependency problems.

·        vulnerable mothers and their babies

·         refugees.

Our work with people who have mental health problems

Stonham manages a total of 111 specialist services for people with mental health problems, from residential projects to support in the community. Wherever they live, the focus of our work is to provide a safe and supportive environment for clients.

Where appropriate, we provide support to access health services, for instance by working closely with Community Mental Health Teams, Community Psychiatric Nurses (CPN) and Assertive Outreach Teams.

Stonham provides a clear framework so that our service users can regain their independence. We build on skills that can help this process including support with budgeting and shopping, help with accessing education and employment and providing support with literacy and numeracy.
