St James's House aims to improve the quality of life for people with mental health issues by providing a wide variety of vocational, social and employment opportunities through the provision of a range of innovative services and the use of best practice.
The organisation was established in 1989 to provide work training and work opportunities for people with mental health problems living in the London boroughs of Camden or Islington or those who had been discharged into the community on the closure of Friern Barnet long-stay psychiatric hospital.
Training opportunities include traditional arts and crafts, office-based administrative skills and Desk Top Publishing. Participation by service users in all aspects of the organisation including design, production and administrative support is actively encouraged through out training, |

We are committed to developing and providing innovative and inclusive approaches, which are accepted by people with mental health disabilities and support their recovery and rehabilitation.
