Mind in Tower Hamlets and Newham offers a wide range of community mental health support services including: Advocacy Service - This is for both inpatient and community clients. Counselling - We provide 80+ hours counselling sessions per week. This is provided every day, one evening a week and on Saturday mornings. We have one counselling group and also access to Hypnotherapy. Most referrals come from either the GP or self referral. Welfare benefit advice - We provide Advice and support for people who are on benefits and who access social housing. We can support people with DLA appeals and ensure that service users are able to maximise their income. One to one support and group support - We have a number of staff supporting the Black and Minority Ethnic Communities with one to one support and group work. We have a Somali service, Bengali Service, Support service for African and Caribbean communities. Leisure activities - We support people with a wide range of activities both therapeutic and leisure including - woodwork, photography, art, therapeutic groups. music, We have both a day and evening drop-in service. This provides a social engagement support service for our clients on Monday to Thursday day and Tuesday and Thursday evening. |
The beneficiaries of Mind in Tower Hamlets and Newham are people aged 18-65, living in Tower Hamlets (small number in Newham) who have severe and enduring mental health issues.
