MHPF has been established to promote quality care outcomes for people receiving mental health services. In meeting our objectives we have formed alliances and are working in partnership with many organisations and networks who share our aims.

Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO)

Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO) is the only professional organisation in the third sector that is dedicated to chief executives. ACEVO works to connect, develop and represent the sector leaders. 1800 full members are responsible for heading organisations that collectively employ 200,000 staff members.

Centre for Mental Health

Centre for Mental Health carries out research, policy work and analysis to improve practice and influence policy in mental health as well as public services. They focus on criminal justice and employment, with supporting work on broader mental health and public policy. The aim is to find practical and effective ways of overcoming identified barriers so that people with mental health problems can make their own lives better with good quality support from the services they need to achieve their aspirations.

Counselling Directory

Counselling Directory provides the UK with a huge counselling support network, enabling those in distress to find a counsellor close to them and appropriate for their needs. This is a free, confidential service that will hopefully encourage those in distress to seek help. The website also contains various sections on emotional disorders (types of distress section) and provides some useful articles and events for the public.

NHS Confederation Mental Health Network

The Mental Health Network was established as part of the NHS Confederation to provide a distinct voice for mental health and learning disability service providers. ‘We work in partnership with a range of organisations to publish recommendations on the future of mental health services, as well as on specific issues that effect our members.’

Shift

Shift worked in a number of areas to reduce and remove the stigma and discrimination directed towards people with experience of mental health problems. As of 31 March 2011 Shift closed but the website  will be online until at least 2013. The website can advise you on where to download Shift resources.

SITRA

Sitra is a membership organisation providing leadership, influencing policy through expertise, promoting best practice and providing consultancy, training, information and advice to:

  • Support quality and professionalisation.

Skills for Care

Skills for Care ensures that England’s adult social care workforce has the appropriately skilled people in the right places working to deliver high quality social care. We work closely with the 48,000-plus organisations that employ adult social care workers, together with people who use services, carers and other key partners to develop effective tools and resources that meet the workforce development needs of the sector.

Skills for Health

Skills for Health is your Sector Skills Council, for all health employers; NHS, independent and third sector.  Skills for Health provide the following support:

  •  solutions and tools to help organisations improve productivity and quality
  •  direct support for organisatons and their staff to plan and manage workforce development and change
  • rrepresentation of  views of health employers and championing the effective investment in skills that needed

The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE)

The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) improves the lives of people who use care services by sharing knowledge about what works. They are an independent charity working with adults, families and children’s social care and social work services across the UK. SCIE also work closely with related services such as health care and housing.
