The Endeavour Programme: Veterans Awareness & Interventions Training for Community Service Providers (on-going bespoke training)
The Endeavour Programme is a Veterans Awareness and Interventions Training programme to facilitate positive understanding & outcome support of veteran groups by Community Service providers.
The programme, which has been developed by experts working with military & former military groups has been designed to up-skill delegates working within: Health/Mental health teams, Criminal Justice and Local Authorities eg. Job Centre Plus, Social Services, Housing etc.
The aims of the Endeavour Programme include:
- Delivery of a comprehensive ‘Core’ programme unit focussing on the main issues that affect servicemen and women leaving the Armed Forces and the support of Veterans already living in the community
- Delivery of tailored specialist units designed for Health/Mental Health professionals, community service providers and Veterans.
- Raise interventions and support awareness for people working in healthcare/mental healthcare professions, local councils, Criminal Justice System, social care, job centre plus and organisations engaging with anyone who potentially can be identified as having served in HM Forces.
- Guide community service providers through the generic ‘ASK THE QUESTION’ process and incorporate this into their assessment procedures to enhance the services available to their patients and clients.
- Provide information and guidance into accessing cost effective intervention and support services and the military service confirmation procedures
- Provide Health/Mental health care staff with guidance and application processes when requesting military medical records.
- Explore the military mindset and engagement barriers that affect the successful engagement and application of interventions and support.
- Explore mental health stigma and attitudes within the Armed Forces and Veterans community.
