The 3rd World Congress of Cultural Psychiatry - Young People: Mental capital, mental disorders, resilience and wellbeing through their life course
Young People are faced with many new frontiers of mental distress in the global world of cultural and psychiatry, the focus on life-course, well being, resilience. The 3rd World Congress of Cultural Psychiatry will encapsulate a broad range of themes relevant to young people, physical and mental health abilities, physical health, emotional well being and recovery.
Looking ahead to the London Olympics 2012, we can see how our bid for the Games succeeded largely because of the diverse cultural population of London and the desire to reach young people all around the world, to connect them with the inspirational power of the Games so they are motivated to choose sport. It allows people from all backgrounds to come together to join in positive activity and can help our young people to stay both physically and mentally healthy. The Games will be a ‘once-in-a-lifetime opportunity’ to achieve a lasting health legacy.
The Congress will consider the role of arts, laws and humanities in wider society in promoting the wellbeing of young people in a diverse and global village.
